Page Bureau has been in the works for nearly three years. It’s run by Manoverboard, a company that has been designing websites for more than ten years. We’ve worked with companies like Barneys New York and Generation (Vice President Al Gore’s investment firm). Having serviced hundreds of clients, we recognize that not everyone has the need for a multi-page, complex website. Most professionals and small businesses just need to be on the Web—beautifully and quickly.
Page Bureau is for professionals seeking a quick but compelling website. We cater to lawyers, accountants, consultants, writers, and idealists who know they need to have a website but don’t want to build one themselves. (If you’re an artist, we encourage you to try Flatfile, which looks cool.)
It’s about control. Surprisingly, about 50% of small businesses do not have a website. With one page, you can tightly manage the information about you, expedite the process of having a presence online and ensure that you have the best small website you possibly can.
Yes! We have built all of our designs to perform beautifully on smartphones like the iPhone and Android and to work on tablets like the iPad, Google Nexus, and Samsung Galaxy Tab. This here website is mobile-friendly, too.
No—all you need is a computer with a browser like Firefox or Safari that is connected to the Internet.
You do not. We’ll host your website at pagebureau.com/yoursite. It’s a good idea to use a custom domain name, but it’s entirely up to you. If you can’t decide yet don’t worry—you can switch to a custom domain name any time.
Yes. We are partnered with Tucows, the largest domain name seller in the business. Just visit here. Or you can reserve your domain at other preferred registrars like Namecheap, Dotster, or Dreamhost. Cost for owning your own domain (like a .com, .biz, .net., .ca, .co) are typically between $10 and $25 per year.
We recommend reserving your domain name for a few years. Once you purchase the domain, if you don’t have a lot of technical experience (and who does?), we recommend getting a friend to help you set up redirecting the URL so that your new site works well. Here are some instructions.
- Log in to your domain name registrar. This could a company like Namecheap, GoDaddy, Dotster, Dreamhost, or many others.
- Look for instructions to set up something called an “A Record”. You want to create an A Record for both www.mybusiness.com and mybusiness.com to point to our IP address, 188.8.131.52
- Once you create or change the A Record at your registrar, the change may take up to 48 hours. Usually it’s just a few hours but you’ll have to be patient.
If you have any questions, please contact us.
The best thing is to copy all of the text from your old site, revise it based on our template and then send it to us. We’ll find a way to get most of it on your new site.

Not at the present time. All Page Bureau customers are provided with one level of WordPress permissions: Author. This allows you to edit and update your content, and saves you from accidently breaking your website—technically or aesthetically. While some of our competitors offer full creative control, that’s goes against the core idea of what a Page Bureau website is—clear, elegant, and low maintenance.
