Person-centred, trauma-informed support for anxiety, depression, bereavement, and the weight of experiences that are hard to carry alone.
Now welcoming new clients
I don’t follow a script or push you through worksheets. Every session follows your lead — I’m here to reflect, hold space, and help you see patterns you might not have noticed.
About my approachCalm your nervous system, understand triggers, and rebuild confidence to face uncertainty.
Trauma-informed work that moves at your pace, never faster than you’re ready for.
Compassionate exploration to lift the fog and reconnect with what matters to you.
Grief without judgment, on your own terms and timeline — not a set of stages.
Understanding the patterns that repeat in how you connect with, and detach from, others.
COSCA Registered Counsellor
I’ve been practising counselling in Edinburgh since 2012. Before training as a counsellor I worked in social care, and that background shapes how I work: with patience, without judgment, and with deep respect for your autonomy.
My sessions are open-ended conversations, not clinical assessments. You bring what’s on your mind. I listen deeply and reflect honestly. Over time, something starts to shift.
“I’d never felt able to talk about what happened. Claire created something I’d never had before — a space where I didn’t need to perform being okay.”— Anonymous, trauma work
“Non-directive really does mean non-directive. He never steered me anywhere. That felt revolutionary after years of being told what to think.”— Anonymous, anxiety and identity
No clinical intake form. We just talk to see if we feel right for each other. If not, I’ll always try to refer you on.
We explore what’s brought you here. You lead. Some people find just this session clarifying on its own.
Weekly or fortnightly. Short-term (6 sessions) or open-ended. Some clients see me for years.
A free 20-minute call. No commitment, no paperwork. Just a conversation to see if we’re a good fit.
